Town Brawl Meetings

Is it me...or has any one else noticed that some of the misinformation that is being put out there about the Presidents health care initiative are some of the exact same problems that anyone who currently has an HMO go through on a regular basis?

Doesn't the fact that (under the HMO system) your primary care physician is not considered well enough informed to send you for additional testing or procedures fall in to the "rationing of services" category?

And the "we can't cover your pre-existing condition" aspect of current policies, certainly sounds a lot like "death panel" speak to me. Especially when that "condition" is life threatening.

It would seem like these misguided fools who keep showing up in hysterics at the town hall meetings on the subject are saying: "we are ok with this kind of abuse and mistreatment...as long as it's being done in the name of capitalism and we can pay top dollar for it, out of our own pockets."

Talk about a bunch of lemmings! Do they even listen to themselves, when they speak?

So How About Them Candidates...

I must say that I'm ready for the incessant 'Primary Season' to be over!
I don't know if it's just because I'm more interested this time around then ever before...or if it is just an unusually inane period.

The amount of time that is being spent on "non-issues", is OUT OF CONTROL!
Am I the only one that doesn't give a shit about whether or not Obama is wearing a patriotic lapel pin? That's about as significant as what country Hilary's earrings were made in. Who cares...and what does that have to do with ANYTHING?

And while I am generally a very liberal person and I'm more then a little ecstatic about the end of the 'Bush Regime", there is a part of me that almost wants a Republican to inherit the mess that he (Bush) has created and attempt to start cleaning it up. If only the Republican nominee wasn't so "war hungry"...

Because you know that if a Democrat (whoever it might be) ends up in office, there is NO WAY that they will even be able to make a dent (in 4 years) in the damage that has been done (to our economy, reputation, etc.) over the past 8 years. It really has been the closest thing to a 'reign of terror' that we (as Americans) have ever had.

And if it were to be Obama that was given the position, we'll end up hearing (from the Republicans): "Oh well we elected a 'African American President' and he didn't do shit." Or if it's Clinton it'll be: "Oh well we elected a 'Female President' and she didn't do shit." They'll be no consideration given to the amount of ciaos that they inherited.

I believe wholeheartedly that whoever gets elected should get an automatic two terms. One to clean up the mess and a second to actually show us what they can do. But sadly that will never happen.
